I would have loved to read it too. This past week, I lost 2 co-workers. One was sudden, caused by a brain aneurysm. He was a good man - a father of 2. The other, a good friend and co-worker, lost her battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She lived with the disease for 3 years and she fought hard for the little moments that she could spend with her husband, 2 children, family, and friends. She was a wonderful mother, someone who loved as much as she was loved, and someone who will be missed, as was evident by the outpouring at her funeral.

As hard as it has been to be reminded of the fragility of life, I'm reminded of what's really important. It's the way you live your life, how you treat others and how deeply you love. If I can get that right, then I'm doing ok. From the sounds of your blog and facebook posts, I think you're doing ok too.

I'm so glad to hear your continuing good news, Beth. May your future surveillance be as uneventful as the past tests. You are a very strong woman, and I'm glad you'll be with your friends and family for a very long time!

I'm sure you'd prefer some other title, but I'd say "World's Best Cancer Patient" fits. Your doctors must love you for your curiosity, intelligence and wit, but most importantly for sharing your experiences with honesty. As always, thanks so much for sharing.

Hurray for us!! Your story is so much like mine. I too am moving through the same milestones as you. I think the only difference is that the neuropathy in my feet is mild compared to what you had described. I also don't have any lingering issues with toileting. But as like you, I am glad to be alive and thankful that the worse is over. I look forward to your updates and I am glad that everything worked out for you and me! Hurray!!

Hi Beth, your story continues to inspire, now even more so as my sister was recently diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. I'm thrilled you are living your life - you and all survivors provide hope for those battling a disease along with the family and friends that try to support them. Here's to another year of "ordinary."

YAAAAAAAYYYYY. You are the best friend, villager, mom, wife ever to share this journey and make us take notice of the small things- and our bodies. I will never, ever look at screening the same way again. You are one more reason I absolutely Love My Village. I am so grateful, thankful, delighted that your journey was so successful, that you have your health back and that your family will continue to have you along for the ride. Amen to many prayers. May all your days be amazingly "normal!"

Knowing you're going through a rough patch is really important to know for all of us who love you. There's no expiration date on needing help and support, let us know if there's anything that would make things easier.

First of all, that gold flower necklace is stunning and I truly hope you will be making many more beautiful pieces in the future. I have a great interest in your blog since we have had a nearly exact experience at nearly the exact time. I was diagnosed 5/10/11 and completed my Folfox in late November 2011. All is good here too, thank God! I did want to share my experience with neuropathy. The numbness, pain and tingling in my fingers is all but gone, nearly back to normal. My feet however have been slower to clear up. There remains a slight numbness in the balls of my feet but I only really ever notice it except when I wear closed toed shoes so all those darling little ballet flats I bought last summer are sitting on a shelf in the closet. Wedges feel quite awkward also. Fortunately, I live in South Florida where I can wear sandals almost year round. The numbness in my feet does affect my balance a bit which is a great excuse for why I suck at Zumba but the truth is I have no rhythm. I wish you continue good health and healing.
